The Card Casino Bratislava, against the clear blue sky, looks like some kind of hilltop mansion for poker players. It feels like you are approaching something huge, where something huge is about to happen.
With one day until the Bratislava Poker Festival, excitement is spreading across three floors of the casino. The staff is busily preparing the gaming rooms, the restaurant and the gaming tables; ready to welcome players from all over the world.
As tournament director Donal MacAonghusa (and father of the blogger) said today: “It’s going to be huge! It has been talked about at every poker table in Ireland, from the Macau Casino in the south to the Antrim Sports Club. We are very excited to bring some of the magic of Irish Poker to Slovakia.”
Head to BratislavaPokerFestival.com for the full schedule, but highlights include Day 1A of the Mystery Bounty for €400 and the Festival Opener tomorrow for a €150 buy-in. The Grand Prix Main event kicks off on Wednesday and the European Championship of Omaha is played on Thursday.
