IGT signs sports betting deal extension in Rhode Island

International Game Technology announced that the company has signed a three-year contract extension with the Rhode Island Lottery to continue providing its proprietary sports betting technology.
IGT extension PlaySports and its US business partner William Hill power mobile sports betting across the state through the Sportsbook Rhode Island app and sports betting venues at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort and Bally’s Tiverton Casino & Hotel.
“As one of the first US lotteries to launch sports betting, Rhode Island Lottery is very pleased with the successful program we have built over the past five years, backed by IGT extensionworld-class technology and operator expertise from William Hill,” said Mark Furcolo, director of the Rhode Island lottery.
Sports betting in Rhode Island was made possible by a 2018 US Supreme Court ruling.
“IGT extension recently invested significant resources to enhance our sports betting platform and mobile app,” Furcolo added. “These updates will enable us to maximize revenue and offer a competitive solution among neighboring states in this dynamic regional sports betting market “.

The improvements IGT extension brought to the Lottery sports betting app and platform to provide fans with a convenient and intuitive gaming experience and produce strong earnings that support the Lottery’s commitment to generate revenue for good causes.
In addition to the partnership for sports betting, IGT extension is the provider of lottery, iLottery, instant ticket and video lottery solutions and services to the Rhode Island Lottery.
IGT extension has provided sports betting solutions in Europe, Latin America and Asia, including clients such as LNBs (Belgium), OPAP (Greece) and Lottomatica (Italy). IGT extension the platforms have processed more than $6 billion in bets to date.
Rhode Island is one of more than 30 states in the country with some form of legal sports betting.
