PA Gaming Control Board renews license for Mount Airy Casino

[
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board unanimously voted to renew Mount Airy #1 Category 2 casino license, LLCoperator of the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.
In making the decision, the board determined that Mount Airy had fulfilled the obligations under its previously approved casino operating license and, therefore, was qualified for license renewal for an additional five-year period.
The decision to renew the license was based on a process used by the Council which allows both the operator and the public to provide information relevant to the renewal decision.
On August 3, 2022, a public hearing was held in the casino’s host municipality, Paradise Township. Mount Airy Casino Resort staff have presented documents and testimony on various aspects of the facility’s operation since the last license renewal was granted. The public was also allowed to give testimonials about the casino and its impact on the community.
In making its decision, the Board also received information from local government officials, community groups and the PA State Police, along with the Gaming Control Board’s Office of Enforcement Counsel, Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement, Office of Compulsive and Problem Gaming and Bureau of Enforcement Casino Compliance.
Additionally, a public hearing was held today in Harrisburg to allow Council members to further question Mount Airy #1, LLC representatives on any remaining issues before the vote on the renewal.
