The BetOnline Poker Summer Micro Tournament Series is now underway

BetOnline Poker is giving small stakes players plenty of reasons to celebrate this summer with not only their own online tournament series, but also rake-reduced small stakes cash games.

From June 25 to July 2, the popular online poker room is holding a micro-betting festival that guarantees a total of $450,000. There is a wide variety of no-limit hold’em events on offer, including rebuys and progressive knockouts.

The two crown jewels of the series are a $22 buy-in $50,000 guaranteed event on Sunday, July 2 at 1 PM ET and a $109 buy-in, $250,000 guaranteed main event also on Sunday, July 2, but at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Players who finish in the top 50 on the Micro Series Leaderboard will also receive a $250,000 guaranteed buy-in to the main event.

But tournament players aren’t the only ones to benefit from BetOnline’s commitment to micros. This month, the site announced major changes to the rake structure at the low and medium stakes cash tables.

Effective June 1, BetOnline has reduced their rake limits, which means less rake will be taken from hands at $0.50-$1 or lower. The next time players play one of these games, they will pay less rake and keep more of their hard earned winnings.

Here is a summary of the changes:
● $0.05-$0.10: Maximum rake now capped at $1.50 (previously $3)
● $0.10-$0.25: Maximum rake now capped at $2.50 (previously $3)
● $0.25-$0.50: Maximum rake now capped at $3.50 (previously $4)
● $0.50-$1: Maximum rake now capped at $4 (previously $5)
