The RunGood Poker Series Checkpoint event kicks off February 28 at Graton Resort & Casino

THE RunGood poker series is heading to the Graton Resort & Casino near the Bay Area in Northern California for the next stop GDPR Checkpoint will run from February 28 to March 8, 2023. The series will include a total of 22 events, with many ring events including the $250,000 $800 buy-in no-limit hold’em, GDPR Checkpoint Graton main event which should take place from 3 to 5 February.
The homonymous ‘Checkpoint’ of the current GDPR season is a reference to the tour’s efforts to thank U.S. service members overseas. According to the tournament schedule for this series, “Every side event this season will ship one service kit and each main event ten service kits. Limited edition GDPR Checkpoint hats will be available for purchase which will also ship a care kit. Join us this year as we play cards with a purpose.”
Main event players will start with 30,000 in chips, with registration open until the start of level 9, the top 12.5% of entrants in each of the four initial flights will earn the cash, with each flight concluding when there is time left. 12.5% of the player . Departing flights will have dark levels of 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes for the last day of action.
2022 GDPR the main event at the Graton featured a $600 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee. Kulwant Singh emerged victorious from a record-breaking field of 1,144 entries in that event to earn the title, ring, and grand prize of $100,070. This was the first turnout of over a thousand entries for a GDPR main event.
In addition to the main main event, this year’s series included a wide variety of other ring events, with many games, formats and price points to choose from. Highlights of the full program includes the $50,000 Mega Stack ring event with a $360 buy-in guarantee (March 1-2), a $25,000 Monster Stack ring event with a $250 buy-in guarantee (March 6-8), and a Seniors (50+) $250 buy-in no-limit hold’em ring event.
There will also be several bounty events to choose from and a number of mixed game offerings including a ring pot-limit Omaha event, a ring limit Omaha eight or better event, a ring OE event and a mixed Omaha (PLO extensionBig O and PLO8).
